Obesity Week Highlights

The session yesterday at Obesity Week discussion the mechanisms of diabetes remission was highlighted as a highlight. Prof Carel le Roux’s talk outlined how weight loss should not be considered a mechanism after bariatric surgery but rather an outcome of the intervention itself. Surgery has multiple mechanisms responsible for both weight loss and glycaemic control which should be studied and understood.
